Become an ongoing volunteer
Interested in helping with an ongoing project? Here are some opportunities for you.

Garlic mustard eradication
Garlic mustard is a biennial herb that was introduced from Europe in the 19th century. Since its introduction, garlic mustard has made its way across most of the United States, including every county in Ohio. It poses a threat to our native species by competing with spring flowers and suppressing soil fungi that have synergistic relationships with trees. Because garlic mustard competes with the plants that native animals need for food and shelter, the whole woodland ecosystem is affected.
If you enjoy spending time alone in nature, this may be the opportunity for you.
Volunteer time frame: Mid-April to early June. Volunteers will be assigned zones that they can tend at a time of their choosing.

Children's Garden
If you enjoy collaborative and creative gardening, consider participating in the Children and Youth Garden this year. The foundation of this team is a 90-foot diameter circular children’s garden and ADA accessible beds, which are the canvas for children’s activities every Tuesday evening from May-October during the Community Supported Agriculture season. This garden is also home to unity crops which are recommended by the community and represent many cultures.
Volunteer time frame: Wednesdays from 10am-noon. April-November

Community Greens
Grow vegetables for food insecure communities.
Each season Seminary Hill Farm distributes vegetables to People in Need of Delaware County and Linden Fresh Market. We focus on greens (spinach, lettuce, chard, collards, kales, bok choi and more) and fresh herbs. The Community Greens field covers .25 acre (100x110 feet) and is exclusively for distribution to food insecurity partners.
Volunteer time frame: Wednesdays from 10am-noon. (April-November) and Thursdays from 6 pm-8pm (May-November)

Birding at MTSO
Come stroll the 80-acre campus with guidance of Susan W, a seasoned birder and help us create a monthly inventory of birds in 2026. This opportunity is excellent for new and seasoned birders alike. We are tracking the monthly inventory on e-Bird. We will also be establishing new blue bird and purple martin houses and looking at how to support migratory birds on campus.
Volunteer time frame: First Monday of the month from 9 a.m.-11a.m.
Register through the POINT app or Connections Volunteer Center.
