Fall CSA Program
Sept. 7-Oct. 31
After the hottest months of summer come to a close, the fall season is a welcome relief to members of the Columbus, Ohio area. As the temperatures begin to drop and the nights threaten frost, Seminary Hill Farm is busy planning and preparing for this anticipated change in the weather. Root vegetables, such as sweet potatoes and turnips, cultivate in our fields while more delicate varieties, such as herbs and salad mixes, remain protected in our system of high tunnels, low tunnels and hoop houses. Our practical knowledge of effective season extension techniques allow us to provide a full harvest each and every week for our members to enjoy.
What to Expect
The Fall CSA program offers 8 weekly distributions. Some varieties you can expect to be included in this season's program will be turnips, kale, swiss chard, pumpkins, winter squash, kohlrabi, cabbage, carrots, beets, spinach, radishes, parsnips, parsley, thyme and sage. Each week, you will receive fresh, quality food from our certified organic farm.
Meal-planning Guides, Cooking Tips and More
Each CSA share will include helpful recipes, storage tips and preparation ideas. Our chefs have worked closely with the farm team to develop a newsletter filled with information that is both practical and unique for our members. In today's modern world, real food can be prepared and enjoyed in ways that can easily fit into the lives of our busy CSA members. Our newletter is focused on how to make the fresh produce found in your CSA share something that can efficiently fit into your daily schedules and help you discover delicious, healthy recipes with seasonal ingredients.
How it Works
When you sign up, you will have the option to choose which share size and location will work best for you. We will have an on-site farm stand set up during the distribution times at each location that offers an average of twelve different seasonal varieties. You will be provided with a number of credits based on the share size you selected. Each of the items offered at our farm stand will be assigned a credit value. Every week, you can select the fresh produce for your CSA share. As a member of our CSA program, you will also have exclusive access to farm-to-table dinners, live cooking demonstrations and special events.
